Last weekend marked the release of Will Ferrell's new movie "Semi-pro" where the comedian stars as the owner/player/coach of the ABA's Flint Michigan Tropics. Now, anyone would agree that this sounds like a hilarious idea for a comedy (especially after seeing Ferrell sporting his mammoth afro), but I am starting to get a little tired of his same old routine. In the past few years we have seen Ferrell star as a dimwitted NASCAR driver, an arrogant Olympic figure skater, an overbearing pee-wee soccer coach, and now, in his most recent release, a delusional professional basketball player. Is anyone else at least a little bit tired of seeing his brilliant talent almost being wasted on playing these troubled athletic figures? Personally, it does't seem that Ferrell has to work very hard to develop therse characters anymore. For example, Ferrell's "Jackie Moon" seems to only be a fusion of his previous characters of his figure skating-womanizer "Chaz Michael Micheals" and his anchorman "Ron Burgandy." Not to mention, from what I've seen in commercials and previews for his new release, it appears that Ferrell engages in hand to hand combat with a wild bear, which is an exact scenario that was played out in his 2004 "Anchorman" film.
I will admit, I am a fan of the Ferrell movies I have previously mentioned (with the exception of "Kicking and Screaming"), and I also admit that I will most likely see "Semi-pro" and laugh hysterically while I'm at it, but I wish that Will Ferrell would show an extra dimension and adopt a role that would lead him to branch out from his typical brand of comedy we have grown so accustomed to. If I wanted to see nuances of the same gags played out over and over and over again, all I have to do is watch a few "Family Guy" epsiodes.

He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother...The Biggest Loser: Couples
So I have been keeping up with The Biggest Losers: Couples, and I've noticed that one thing has really driven me crazy, besides the fact that I hate looking at their many rolls and man boobs (no offense to any heavy people out there). That thing is that every episode, and I mean every episode, someone has to cry. It is so frustrating. Like in this past week's episode, one of the guys, Jay, was crying because the week before his team had to send him home. I know that if my brother got kicked off of any show that I was on with him, that I would not cry. I most likely wouldn't even care. And Jay didn't just get teary eyed or something like that, I mean that he straight up cried...like a little baby/child would do. He cried multiple times too, which was very irritating to me. There is this other woman on the show too, Kelly, who cries a lot also. She is worse than the guy I just talked about. She will cry over anything...the most pointless things in the world. It just really grinds my gears. So I guess what I'm trying to say is that you should definitely not watch this show if you hate people who cry at just about anything...or if you happen to hate fat people (which I don't). I honestly don't even know why I keep watching it...I'm just addicted to watching chubby people lose tons of weight every week I guess.
